Our first physicians still practice with us today out of our flagship office in Blue Ash, Ohio.

Our evolution
More than 40 years ago, a small group of forward-thinking dermatologists in Cincinnati had a vision. They believed physicians should remain focused on medicine, not burdened by the growing complexity of running a business.
So they built something that fit their vision: a management services organization designed to support independent dermatology practices while preserving clinical autonomy. Dermatologists of Central States (D.O.C.S.) was built to empower physicians to care for patients while we cared for them.
Patients continued seeing their trusted local practice names, and behind the scenes, D.O.C.S. provided the operational strength that allowed those practices to thrive.
What began in Cincinnati steadily expanded as like-minded dermatologists sought a better way to practice.
Each step was intentional. Growth was never about simply adding dots on a map—it was about partnering with high-quality dermatology practices that shared a commitment to clinical excellence and long-term sustainability.
As demand for dermatologic services increased, the organization evolved thoughtfully. Dermatologists of Central States (D.O.C.S.) effectively reduced wait times, expanded appointment availability, and served more communities without compromising quality.
Along the way, the organization also expanded into physician-led aesthetic services, rounding out its dermatologic offerings. By integrating medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology under one coordinated platform, D.O.C.S. ensured patients could access comprehensive skin care delivered with the same clinical rigor and safety standards.
From MSO to modern platform
The strong foundation built by D.O.C.S. enabled the transition to a broader, multi-state platform now known as DOCS Dermatology Group, a name that reflects both our history and our future.
Today, the organization spans multiple states with a growing network of physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinics. But the philosophy remains the same as it was more than 40 years ago in Cincinnati:
